Designer Code of Conduct
At Colorly Space, you have the opportunity to create and grow through rewarding creative projects and client connections. Our Designer Code of Conduct defines our site policies and helps guide your participation in our community.
Our promise to you
We’ll connect you with the right clients.
The more you participate on Colorly Space the more we can support you! As you work on the platform, we’ll get a better understanding of the industries, styles and categories that best fit your skills. Then, we’ll begin matching you with clients who are looking for what you offer.
We’ll reward the quality of your work.
Our curation team reviews all new designer applications to determine which of our designer levels fits you best. We’ll review your portfolio periodically to determine when you’re ready for the next level. As your level increases, so do your opportunities including higher prize packages, a larger contest selection and faster payouts.
We provide payment security.
We know how tough it can be to chase down invoices. We secure payments from clients upfront and allow payments to be released as work is completed (read more). Invoicing through Colorly Space is easy and ensures you’re paid for all the work you complete (this is why it’s required by our terms of use).
We are here for you.
We handle the administrative side of things like Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and the transfer of ownership so you can focus on doing what you love most—creating great design. In the rare instance that you’re unable to resolve an issue with a client, Colorly Space will be there to help mediate the situation. We’re also available to answer any questions you have and resolve disputes you may encounter.
Your promise to us
Submit only your best work.
At Colorly Space, we work hard to maintain the quality and trust of our design community. That’s why we diligently curate all of our designers based on skill level, overall quality and professionalism. You agree to only submit work that meets our quality standards.
Adhere to our Stock Policy.
We have a unique Stock Image and Clip Art Policy that may differ from what you’re used to. All stock images must be declared, so the client can purchase the proper license to use it. Use of stock images in logo, illustration or button/icon contests is never permitted. Violation of our Stock Policy may result in account suspension or termination.
Be original.
While we recognize that some design similarity is expected (especially in Contests where designers are following the same brief), blatant copying will not be tolerated anywhere on Colorly Space. Copying others’ work may result in account suspension or termination in adherence to our Concept Originality Policy.
Act professionally.
You agree to behave in a professional and respectful manner towards all clients, designers and staff members in your communications and business practices. Aggressive, offensive or other unprofessional behavior will be considered a breach of this Code of Conduct and could result in account suspension.
Always follow through
We understand things can happen. You agree to communicate with your client if you are unable to meet a deadline or finish a project. If you need any assistance, the Colorly Space support team is always available to help! You also agree to keep your availability updated on your profile.
Keep work and communication on Colorly Space.
Interfacing with clients and making sure you get paid on time can be a time-consuming part of running your own business. Colorly Space manages those logistics so you don’t have to. However, we can only mediate disputes and secure payment when communications, work agreements, files and payment transactions stay on-site. Plus, completing paid projects on Colorly Space boosts your visibility and leads to more projects in the future. Taking payments outside of Colorly Space violates our Circumvention Policy and will result in account suspension.
Respect the confidentiality of our clients.
Colorly Space is an ideal place to build your professional portfolio. However, some clients may not want their projects showcased publicly. On Colorly Space, clients indicate this by marking a contest or project as "private." Make sure you have a client's permission before adding their designs to your portfolio. Be aware that you could be subject to legal repercussions for sharing work currently under a non-disclosure agreement.
